The SAE Institute Vancouver, known previously as Harbourside Institute of Technology, offers diploma and certificate programs in audio engineering. The school is Ableton- and Pro Tools-certified, making it the only audio engineering school in Canada with both certifications.

Pro Tools is the most widely used Digital Audio Production system in the world. The hardware and software were developed by Digidesign, a division of Avid Technology, and are used for recording and editing in music production, film scoring, and film/television post-production.

During your time on campus, you will have access to 4-months of guidance from an industry professional to create and polish your demo reel.

Asset Creation is a term used in the CG industry for the creation of all bits and pieces, both big and small, used in Film and Games. This Asset Creation program is designed to train working artists in the CG Industry for the roles of Props & Environments for Film, Characters & Creatures for Film, Environments for Games as well as Characters & Creatures for Games.

Sam Ryan
Sam Ryan is a professional producer/engineer/mixer, co-founding Vancouver-based music production company SOS Music Group LTD. He has 24 years of experience in the music industry. As the head instructor of SAE Vancouver’s Audio Engineering and Music Production Program, Sam is a certified Ableton Live trainer.

Charlotte Duggan
Charlotte Duggan graduated from SAE Vancouver with a Diploma in Audio Engineering & Music Production in 2015 and has worked in and around the recording industry ever since. At SAE, Charlotte oversees the Pro Tools certification program, Workshop Series, and Tutoring Program, as well as the Pro Tools certification program. She became Canada’s first female Avid Certified Instructor for Pro Tools in 2017.

Brayden Dyczkowski
Brayden is the Founder and Lead Producer of Podfather Creative, an audio production agency based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, providing full-service podcast production services. As a guitarist in multiple metal bands, he spent his early years recording jam space demos and playing guitar for various metal bands. He attended SAE Institute, transitioned to the production of pop instrumentals and vocals, and was appointed an instructor there.

Eva Minns
Eva Lucia is a young, up-and-coming audio engineer, producer, singer/songwriter, and performer based in Vancouver, BC. She has always been passionate about the audio world and has been recording projects for local bands and working in a recording studio since graduating from SAE Institute in March 2022. Currently, she is a Peer mentor in Tutoring Program at SAE.
