The year program in filmmaking is designed to bring the participant to a level of professional competence upon course completion. Films made in the course of the course reflect a gradual progression from the basics of filmmaking to the successful completion of a well-crafted film.
The second year program aims to refine and broaden filmmaking skills through master class sessions with some of the Industry’s top international professionals. The program trains students for the production of longer format projects and involves them in substantial full-time work on sets.
The semester program at Prague Film School is a highly-intensive, praxis-oriented course with a steep learning curve. The objective of the program is to instruct concrete craft skills through substantial production and course work.
Covering screenwriting, directing, camera, editing and sound, the four-week summer workshops at Prague Film School are designed to lead the student from story idea to finished short film.
The Prague Film School Acting for Film Program helps actors recalibrate their performances for the screen and provides students the skills to embark on a successful career in film and television.
The semester program at Prague Film School is the first term of the year program. Those who don’t have the time or other resources to invest in the longer format course can take the semester course as a first and substantial step in training for the screen.
This intensive four-week screen acting course is designed to immerse students fully into the film acting process from beginning to end. Students work the first 2 weeks on camera in the classroom, exploring scenes, auditions, introductions, interviews and improvisation.
The Documentary Production Program at Prague Film School emphasizes storytelling. Through intensive practical and theoretical work, each student at PFS develops his/her voice as a documentary storyteller and learns the techniques to grab the audience and take them on an emotional journey.
The semester documentary film progam is the first semester of the year documentary course. The curriculum is aimed at imparting technical hard skills through weekly filmmaking projects and a solid knowledge of the discipline through a rigorous examination of important documentary works throughout history and from around the world.
Asset creation On-campus

During your time on campus, you will have access to 4-months of guidance from an industry professional to create and polish your demo reel.

Asset Creation is a term used in the CG industry for the creation of all bits and pieces, both big and small, used in Film and Games. This Asset Creation program is designed to train working artists in the CG Industry for the roles of Props & Environments for Film, Characters & Creatures for Film, Environments for Games as well as Characters & Creatures for Games.

Masa Hilcisin, Ph.D.
Masa Hilcisin is a visual artist, educator, and creative arts therapist who has produced documentary films and experimental videos. A professor of film production, creative video, and other visual arts at various schools and universities, she holds a doctorate in Film Studies.

Martin Raiman
Co-founder of the Prague-based production company “The LAB,” Martin Raiman is an award-winning Czech/German film & advertisement producer. As a producer, Martin likes to focus on one-stop solutions for movies and branded media concepts so that productions can be economically efficient and environmentally sustainable.

Beth Lazroe
Professional photographer Beth Lazroe (photography for cinematography) has worked since the mid-70s. Her teaching experience includes Dublin City University, Anglo-American College, and New York University, Prague. Since 2003, she has taught at Prague Film School and is the author of Photography as Visual Communication: a Curriculum 1998.

Saimir Bajo
Saimir Bajo is an award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, director, dramaturge, producer, lecturer, and scholar. He directed Tomas Venclova – Forms of Hope and The Violinist (2020).
