The Bachelor of Music Education prepares students to be successful teachers in elementary and secondary schools.
We believe that quality music teaching stems from quality musicianship, therefore our students enter the program having achieved admirably as music performers while in high school.
The PhD faculty in Theatre at LSU are committed to providing students with the necessary tools to compete in a rapidly diversifying job market. We focus on honing students’ skills in writing rigorous scholarship, teaching a broad range of theatre classes, and enhancing production experience, especially in the areas of dramaturgy and directing.

The Master of Arts program in Art History prepares students for careers in both academia and the art world by providing exceptional grounding in art from globally diverse cultures and by encouraging students to explore a range of historical strategies, research techniques, and critical theories.
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Studio Art and Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Studio Art digital art concentrations nurture creative insight, theoretical grounding, and practical expertise. The Robotics Engineering minor aims to provide a fundamental understanding of the field of robotics to undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers or graduate degrees in this field, or in acquiring a multidisciplinary education.
This interdisciplinary minor, created in collaboration with IBM, is intended for students interested in careers in eCommerce-related applications development and information technologies, including enterprise development, systems analysis and architecture, data warehousing, and data analytics.
The online Graduate Certificate in Cloud Computing and Machine Learning from LSU is meeting this demand by equipping professionals with the knowledge and technical skills necessary for a career in an organization that leverages cloud computing.
The Master of Music degree is designed to continue students’ fine arts studies with deeper focus and analysis.
A minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit (33 hours for Music Theory) is required to complete the degree. Up to six hours of graduate credit may be transferred from another institution if such credit satisfies required or elective courses at LSU and is approved by the Area Coordinator of the course area. The master’s degree must be completed within five years.

Upon graduation, many students continue their studies at the master’s level, either at LSU or other prestigious institutions. The degree requires 120 credit hours for completion including 38 credit hours of general education requirements

William "Bill" Conti
Bill is an Oscar-winning composer who has written theme music for several well-known movies, including Gonna Fly Now from the Rocky films, which reached No. 1 on the Billboard singles chart in 1977. He won the 1984 Academy Award for the score to The Right Stuff.

Cassandra Chandler
Chandler retired as one of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s highest-ranking African-American women as Special Agent in Charge of the Norfolk field office. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the “Presidential Rank of Meritorious Executive Award,” the National Center for Women and Policing’s “Breaking the Glass Ceiling” Award, and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives “Phenomenal Woman” Community Service Award.

Suzanne Marie Perron
Perron is the owner of Suzanne Perron Studio in New Orleans, which specializes in bridal and debutante gowns. She worked with celebrity designer Vera Wang in New York for four years on the design of runway and bridal collections and has had her designs featured on the covers of Vogue, Modern Bride, and Martha Stewart Weddings. She has also worked for world-renowned designers Carolina Herrera, Anna Sui, and Christina Perrin, and designed the dresses that Jennifer Lopez wore at her wedding to Marc Anthony, Holly Hunter wore to the Academy Awards and Mariska Hargitay wore to the Golden Globes.
