Specialise in what you are passionate about with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Animation). Select from a list of major and minor streams to hone in on your skills as an animator. Choose to major in either 2D animation or 3D animation, or do both.
Get hands-on with the design and development of characters and worlds – from concept to finished art – and create arresting graphical motion and believable character performances with a Diploma of Creative Arts (Animation). Be introduced to drawing and visualization techniques, learn traditional techniques and cutting-edge motion design and acquire the core skills and tools required for 3D modeling and animation.
Combine interactivity, game design and programming with traditional art practice and animation with a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Game Design). Specialise in what you are passionate about as you select from a list of major and minor streams to hone in on your skills.
Explore everything from concept drawing, digital sculpting, and visual narrative to expressive animation techniques, game art development, 3D modeling, asset creation, and building immersive game spaces. You will begin to understand the core components of visual narrative and game design and adopt a range of rich, diverse, and expressive animation techniques, which you’ll develop into sophisticated outcomes. During the Bachelor’s Degree, explore acoustic design, microphone techniques, audio electronics, and music production and how this can be applied to mixed media such as television, film, digital strategy, and games. Collaborating with students on real projects in these areas will give you a broader context to apply your skills and expand your professional network.
Kick off your studies and learn about software-based synths, emphasizing editing, arranging, and mixing. Master mixing consoles and signal processors, record, overdub, and incorporate a band in the studio. Put your technical skills into practice by collaborating with other students recording a band using multi-microphone techniques or overdubbing other instruments to a multi-track recorder, and gain a real headstart securing your dream audio job.
At Bachelor level, work on a short film, a TV commercial, a music video and a large-scale outside broadcast to create your professional showreel and filmography. Develop your creative expression and technical skills whilst mastering screenwriting, directing, cinematography, motion graphics and post-production, to launch you into the heart of the industry.
An introduction to the fundamentals of film and TV, the Diploma of Film & Television will let you explore cinematography, editing, lighting, location, sound recording, sound design, screenwriting, and production management. The crew on an industry production to get the inside perspective and even produce your documentary.
Certificate III in Screen and Media is designed to reflect production roles and tasks in the creative industries. The course is practical and project-based, including both individual and group work, and using professional industry equipment and resources. Leah Flanagan
National Manager, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office (APRA) – a songwriter, an artist, and also National Manager of APRA’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office. Growing up in the tropics of Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory, Flanagan was raised by a community of cultures bolstering her proud Italian, Aboriginal (Alyawarre) and Irish heritage. Flanagan has performed in Leonard Bernstein’s Mass at the Adelaide Festival and Midnight Muses at the Adelaide Cabaret and Sydney Festivals.
